Hello, I'm Glenn, founder of Rose & Thistle Grave Care.

I started Rose & Thistle after caring for my own family's resting place and understanding first-hand how important it is for these places to be looked after properly.

I provide grave tending, memorial cleaning and restoration for families across the Isle of Wight.

Every visit is carried out personally by me, with care, respect and attention to detail, so you always know exactly who is looking after your loved one's grave or memorial.

How often can grave care visits be arranged? +
Visits can be arranged as a one-off or on a regular basis, including monthly, bi-monthly, quarterly or seasonal care, depending on the grave and your family’s needs.
What does a grave tending visit include? +
Each visit is tailored to the grave and can include weeding, tidying, light cleaning, trimming and care of planted areas.
Can you clean and restore older memorials? +
Yes. I provide careful cleaning and restoration for memorials that have become weathered or neglected over time. This can include deep cleaning, repainting lettering and refreshing chippings where appropriate.
Is permission needed for memorial work? +
Sometimes. Cemeteries and burial grounds have different rules, and some require permission before certain work can be carried out. I’ll let you know what is needed before any work goes ahead.
How much does grave care cost? +
Regular tending is priced according to the type of grave and how often you would like it visited. Memorial cleaning and restoration is quoted individually, as every memorial and its condition is different.
Do you send photos after each visit? +
Yes. Photos are sent after each visit so you can see the work carried out and how everything has been left.
Can you place flowers for me? +
Yes. Fresh flowers can be placed during a visit or for occasions such as birthdays, anniversaries and other meaningful dates.
Do I need to live on the Isle of Wight? +
No. I care for graves on behalf of families both on and off the Island, including those who live further afield or are unable to visit regularly.
How do I get started? +
Simply get in touch with the grave location and a little information about what you would like help with. I’ll then advise on the next steps and arrange a visit if needed.
